AASC Mission Statement
"Our mission is to prepare motivated young athletes to maximize
their potential as competitive swimmers, as part of a team supported by outstanding
coaches and involved parents."
Excellence in Competitive Swimming since 1956
The Ann Arbor Swim Club was founded in 1956 as a community service
club. It is now recognized as one of Michigan's finest programs with
many swimmers
competing at the national level, including the national age-group championships,
USA Sectional and Senior National Championships, and the Olympic Trials.
AASC is a member of USA Swimming, Inc. (USAS),
the national governing body of amateur swimming chartered by Congress
under the Amateur Sport Act. AASC offers a balanced
program of practice, competition and social activities for ten
months a year. Instruction and training in swimming
and swim racing for boys and girls are closely supervised and
highly structured. Swimmers participate in competitions
sanctioned by USA Swimming according to age and ability.
